Turnout continues to break records.

As of 11:00 (12:00 Minsk time) on April 12, the voter turnout in Hungary's parliamentary elections is almost 38%.

This is reported by Telex.

Earlier, at 09:00, the turnout reached 16.89%, while at 7:00 am it was 3.46%. As of 11:00 a.m., turnout stands at 37.98%.

For comparison, the previous election four years ago had lower numbers, and this morning's turnout is nearly double what it was then.

In 2002, the election with the highest recorded turnout, 30.27% of voters cast their ballots in the second round as of 11:00 a.m.

Analyst Matyaš Bodi of Választási Földrajz called the 11:00 a.m. figure a key indicator of the election's progress. He had earlier predicted that the overall turnout could reach 75-80%.

The media are publishing photos from polling stations. In Budapest, for example, photos show people lining up to vote in the election.
