Chinese Workers Took Part In A Protest March In Komsomolsk-on-Amur

They have not been paid for a long time.

Chinese workers of an oil factory have held a protest march through the streets of Russia's Komsomolsk-on-Amur. They claim they have not been paid for a long time, nemoskva.net writes.

The workers were holding placards in Chinese and Russian: "Sechin, help me!", "Putin, help me!".

The mayor of the city Dmitry Zaplutayev rushed to meet with the protesters.

"The purpose of their action was to draw attention to the situation with non-payment of wages. The city administration and law enforcement agencies are negotiating with the Chinese workers. I went to the oil refinery to hold a meeting with the management of the plant and the contractor," said the head of the city.

How long the workers have not been paid their wages is not specified. Law enforcers have not detained the Chinese workers.

This is not the first protest by Chinese workers in Komsomolsk - in November 2021 they also held a march because of low wages and the inability to return home due to coronavirus.
