"God Is In The Midst Of The City - And He Will Not Waver."

Zelensky and his wife congratulated the Orthodox on Easter.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky along with First Lady Elena Zelenska congratulated Ukrainians on Easter by recording a video message at St. Sophia Cathedral. The address was published on April 12.

"God is in the midst of the city - and it will not waver" - these words are sealed here, over our Oranta, in our great Sophia," said Olena Zelenska.

The presidential couple noted that these words are endowed with an extraordinary power, which Ukrainians have felt for more than one and a half thousand days of struggle for life, in which our Ukraine, our capital, our people and our faith are unshakable.

Vladimir Zelensky emphasized that the confrontation takes place not only on the front, but also at the level of spirit and values - between truth and lies, faith and despair, hope and hopelessness. According to him, it is not easy to live through such times, especially when the future seems uncertain.

The first lady said that in such moments it is Easter and its meanings that tell us how not to lose heart and where to find light, so as not to get lost.

"These answers, these signs are near us. In our loved ones, in our families, in our people. In every action, every look, every hug, every message and every word of encouragement. In our "are you okay?" "Don't be afraid." "I'm here for you." "Take care of yourself." "It's going to be okay." Here is this light, the light in our people, enriches us with the strength to hold on as one big family. Family-Ukraine," the presidential couple emphasized.

The head of state noted that it was in this way that together Ukrainians overcame the winter - the hardest in the history of our state, but which lost, and the cold dishonorably retreated.

"We have waited for our spring. And today we celebrate our Easter together. For the fifth year in a row, we do this despite the pain, all the trials and evils that surround our land. By doing this, we prove that Ukrainians always remain Ukrainians. And no war will erase this, so this day for us is always about family, the warmth of our own home, about children's laughter in it. For the sake of this laughter, thousands of Ukrainians are at the front defending Ukraine and their families," Zelensky said.

The First Lady noted that no matter what dark clouds cover the sky, Ukrainians preserve their identity and family traditions: every year they prepare, collect Easter baskets, paint pysanky, bake paski, decorate their homes, plant trees and flowers. And all this is not about food or decor, but about the people who strive to make life blossom around them.

The Ukrainian President emphasized that this is the very meaning of Easter for all of us. It has been so in all centuries, during which Sophia of Kyiv stands.

"So it is today, when Ukraine stands firmly, persistently, unwaveringly, knowing for whom and for what. That the fifth Easter in times of war should be replaced by the first peaceful Easter in all our land for all our people. When the Easter bell will not be disturbed by the siren of alarm. When winter and all evil will retreat from our land, and everyone will wait for their own - from the front, captivity, occupation. When loved ones are near, and grandchildren in the arms of our parents, and we are again at the same table," Zelenskiye said.

The President of Ukraine noted that this is worth fighting for, and Ukraine has been doing it for 1509 days. And it is on Easter that faith is stronger than ever - in the victory of peace over war.

"We rely not only on heavenly forces, but also on our Security and Defense Forces. We believe equally in God's grace and our courage. We hope in the intercession of our Oranta and the accuracy of our long-range shooting. Today Ukrainians not only believe in miracles, but also create miracles themselves daily, by their own actions, work, courage, dedication, strength of spirit", - emphasized Zelensky.

The First Lady and the President wished that everyone who helps and searches always finds, everyone who is on the way always overcomes it, and everyone who does everything possible for Ukraine should not lose faith that everything is possible.

"We sincerely congratulate you on this great bright day. To all the incredible people. Incredible children, courageous boys and girls who have not lost faith in goodness. Our mothers and fathers. All our towns and villages that deserve a peaceful life. See calm days and nights, the triumph of justice, light, truth and the victory of peace in all our land. Let it be so. Let there be peace. And there will be Ukraine!" - said Vladimir and Elena Zelensky.
