For the second time this week.
Poland has put fighter jets in the air for the second time this week to intercept a Russian reconnaissance plane Il-20 over the Baltic Sea.
Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysh wrote about it on social network X.
"In the evening (on April 9. - Ed.) a pair of our F-16 aircraft carried out another interception this week of a Russian reconnaissance plane Il-20, which was flying over the Baltic Sea," Kosiniak-Kamysh said.
He noted that such actions are provocations by Russia aimed at testing Poland's air defense systems.
"Thanks to the constant combat readiness of pilots, soldiers and ground personnel, Polish skies remain safe. The Polish Armed Forces are ready on a daily basis for immediate reaction and defense of the airspace," the defense minister added.
