There Was A Powerful Explosion In The Russian City Of Vladikavkaz

Two people were killed, more than 10 injured in an explosion in the Russian city of Vladikavkaz on April 10. These are the latest data from the Emergencies Ministry. The explosion occurred in a warehouse located in a residential area. According to preliminary data, the warehouse was storing pyrotechnics, Radio Liberty reported.

The bodies of the dead were recovered from under the rubble, the Emergencies Ministry said. Two people were reportedly rescued. The search and rescue operation is continuing, it is not reported how many people may remain under the rubble.

The number of injured has risen to 14, among them two children, all of whom have been hospitalized. Four people are reported to be in extremely serious condition.

Emergency Ministry officials are now trying to put out the fire, due to which there is a threat of further detonation. Students of the medical faculty, which is located next to the warehouses, have been evacuated.
