Pashinyan At Meeting With Putin Explained The Uselessness Of CSTO Membership

The Collective Security Treaty Organization is not fulfilling its obligations.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at a meeting with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin in Moscow that Yerevan does not participate in the CSTO because it cannot explain to citizens why the organization did not intervene in the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh. According to Pashinyan, the CSTO mechanisms should have worked in 2022, but it did not happen.

"We had a specific situation in 2022, and the CSTO mechanisms should have worked, but they did not. This led to the situation that we have. We are not participating in the CSTO, we are not in a position to explain to the citizens why they did not react contrary to their obligations," Pashinyan said.
