The death toll has risen.
The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has clarified the number of military personnel killed due to the collapse of an An-26 plane in Crimea, writes Focus. According to Russian authorities, the death toll is 30, not 29. What new details on the plane crash on the peninsula have the occupation authorities announced?
On the morning of April 1, Russian investigators reported an increase in the number of victims of the An-26 crash, the TASS rossMedia reported. It turned out that seven crew members and 23 servicemen were killed. The previous statement of the Russian investigative committee said about 22 soldiers on board. In addition, the exact location where the plane went down and where search operations are being conducted was specified - it is the village of Kuibyshevo in the Bakhchisaray district in the south of occupied Crimea.
Russians said they have opened proceedings under Article 351 of the Russian Criminal Code. Investigators suspect that the An-26 pilots made a mistake and poorly prepared for the flight. It is specified that they continue search operations in the wooded area near the crash site.

Russian media did not publish new data on the circumstances of the An-26 crash, except for clarification of the number of dead. It is also not known as of today whether the plane was flying to Crimea or was returning to the Russian mainland. There are three military airfields around the crash site in the Bakhchisaray district: Belbek and Kacha near Sevastopol (23 and 28 km to Kuibyshevo), and Gvardeysky near Simferopol (55 km).

It should be noted that at the moment the plane was shot down, an air alert was declared on the peninsula due to the threat of Ukrainian UAVs. In the morning, the Russian Defense Ministry said that from 8 p.m. March 31 to 7 a.m. April 1, air defense forces shot down 42 drones: three of them over Crimea and two each over the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov.
