The US President commented on the information about Moscow's support for Iran.
US President Donald Trump has no knowledge of Russia passing intelligence to Iran for strikes on US military facilities. He told reporters on his way to Florida after a ceremony to repatriate the bodies of six US servicemen who were killed in an Iranian strike on Kuwait, RTVI writes.
Donald Trump said that even if there is cooperation between Iran's and Russia's military intelligence agencies, "they are not doing very well."
"I don't have that information (about Moscow passing information to Iran for airstrikes in the Middle East. - Editor's note). If that's true, they're not doing very well, Iran is not doing very well," Trump said.
The US president also gave his special envoy and negotiator with Moscow, Steve Whitkoff, a chance to speak. The latter said he had "firmly demanded" that Moscow not support Tehran. Whitkoff did not specify through what channels and at what level the message was transmitted.
"I hope they're not doing that," Whitkoff said.
Trump then added that if Russia transmitted such information, the country could be said to be acting against the United States in the Iranian conflict, but did not specify what the consequences might be.
"They can send as much information as they want, but the people they send it to are broken. Russia would be broken too, anybody in that position would be broken," Trump said of the U.S. operation.
