France Has Sent A Helicopter Carrier To The Mediterranean Sea

France has sent the helicopter carrier Le Tonnerre ("Thunder") to the Mediterranean Sea, in addition to the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle, which has already arrived there.

According to BFMTV, the French General Staff announced this on March 6.

The General Staff confirmed the information, which first appeared unofficially in the media, about the redeployment of the helicopter carrier "Le Tonnerre" to the Mediterranean Sea.

A spokesman for the General Staff said that the vessel "will add to the forces of the French army against the background of the crisis in the Middle East."
