Russian students refused to go to war in Ukraine.
The authorities' campaign to recruit students for the unmanned systems forces, launched across Russia amid problems with replenishing losses at the front in Ukraine, has already affected at least 91 universities and more than 100 technical schools in the country. However, young Russians are in no hurry to respond to such a recruitment attempt, which in reality involves sending them to the front.
So, at the Voronezh State University of Engineering Technologies, students were not enthusiastic about the attempt to motivate them to "defend their homeland" in Ukraine, for which they received a rebuke from the dean of the Faculty of Management and Informatics in Technological Systems, Alexei Skrypnikov.
"Raise your hands, who considers himself a man. Are there men here or not in the audience? No? I'm ashamed of you! Take off your pants, put on your skirts and make your bows. And burn your beard so that there's nothing... Are you men or not? What did your moms raise you to be? Are you slobs? Or are you future fathers after all? Or are we going to surrender, say "Khokhlya, we surrender"? How do you imagine it?" - said the university representative during an assembly in February. His statements, recorded by students, were published by "Verstka".
Dean told students that the Ukrainian military allegedly "stab swastikas not only on the body, but also in the heart," and also said that AFU fighters kill pregnant women, children and abuse elderly civilians - all of which, Skrypnikov admitted, he had seen "on the federal channel."
Dean backed up his arguments with a reference to Ukrainians allegedly castrating captured Russian soldiers and filling their anus with mounting foam. "How will you look your girls in the eyes when they are being raped? ... Imagine how she will be raped by fascists. Have you thought about how your mom will be ... abused?" - he said.
Skrypnikov said students believe the war "doesn't concern them" because of the deferment. "Half of you are also not studying normally, speculating, working. 10% of you are trying to demagogue. Does anyone owe you anything? Or do you think the state should do everything for you? It owes you nothing!" -
"Educational conversation" with students who refused to go to war after the recruiters' visit was held in February by the director of Novosibirsk College of Transport Technologies, Maria Kirsanova. She gathered senior students in an auditorium and accused them of cowardice, saying they were "shocked" that some of those present were going to study for a deferment from the army.
"You start talking to 18-year-olds, to you. Guys, the Motherland demands it! And the answer is: "Yes, what are we going to arrive in a zinc coffin?". Where does this fear come from? And who will protect us? I say: go on contract now, you'll get your diploma. Because new troops are being recruited now, that's why there's such a need. Are you all cowards sitting here, afraid for your lives?" - stated the director.
