President Of The European Parliament: Today Is A Special Day For Belarusians

March 25 is a powerful symbol of protest against dictatorship.

President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola made a statement in support of Belarusians on the eve of the meeting on March 25 - the Day of Will, which is traditionally celebrated by Belarusians around the world.

Roberta Metsola noted that this date has a special significance for Belarus as a symbol of the struggle for freedom and democracy.

"Today we celebrate the International Day of Solidarity with Belarus, known as the Day of Will. On this day in 1918, Belarus declared independence. For millions of Belarusians, this anniversary has become a powerful symbol of protest against an oppressive dictatorship. And we take this opportunity to reaffirm our support to all Belarusians who are fighting for a free and democratic country," said Metsola, starting the plenary session of the European Parliament on March 25.
