A Russian soldier from Buryatia is shocked by the fighting with the AFU.
A Russian military officer from Buryatia has published a frank report on the scale of losses of the Russian army in the war against Ukraine. According to him, the current losses are many times higher than they were during the Chechen campaigns, which makes the previous ideas about war no longer relevant, writes "Dialogue".
He also notes that the value of Russian servicemen's lives at the front has actually decreased, and the deaths of soldiers have become massive. According to him, in one day Ukrainian forces can destroy a unit of up to an entire brigade (in the Russian army it is about 2,000 to 4,000 people).
The change in the attitude to losses is particularly emphasized: if previously the death of one soldier was perceived as a tragedy, now, according to the author, the count can go to thousands of dead per day.
Separate attention is paid to the role of drones. The report says that even experience in previous conflicts no longer offers an advantage, as expensive equipment and trained militaries are vulnerable to the mass use of inexpensive FPV drones.
