Earlier, the White House chief said the US had held "very strong talks" with Tehran.
Iran has agreed to U.S. terms to give up developing nuclear weapons, President Donald Trump told reporters.
"It started out that they can't have nuclear weapons. I said yesterday, what are the 10 main points [of the deal]? Number one, two and three, they can't have nuclear weapons. And they won't have them... I don't want to say in advance, but they agreed that they will never have nuclear weapons. They agreed to that," Trump said.
On March 23, the White House chief said the US had held "very strong talks" with Iran and had reached agreement on many key points. He said Washington would like Iran to limit its missile program and give up developing nuclear weapons and uranium enrichment, handing over its existing stockpile to the United States.
