Lithuanian government convenes national security commission.
Lithuanian Prime Minister Inga Ruginenene will convene a meeting of the National Security Commission tomorrow, March 24, due to the fall of a drone near the border with Belarus.
This is reported by Charter97.org with reference to Ruginenene's statement on Facebook.
"Given the current situation, tomorrow at 10.00 am I will convene a meeting of the National Security Commission, where all the circumstances surrounding this incident will be presented," she said.
Ruginenė said that the fallen object in Varena district posed no danger to local residents.
"Police, the Fire and Rescue Department are working at the scene, an Air Force helicopter and other forces are being sent to the scene - the Shield plan has been activated. The Lithuanian Army will regularly share all open information with the public and as soon as possible," the Lithuanian Prime Minister emphasized.
