Iranian authorities have remained suspiciously silent.
Reports linked to the Iranian opposition claim that Mojtaba Khamenei has been seriously injured, lost a leg and probably suffered brain damage. Iranian authorities have remained silent and only released written statements without clear confirmation of his condition.
It is reported by Maariv.
Sources close to the opposition say Mojtaba Khamenei suffered extremely serious injuries. He was rushed to Sina University Hospital in Tehran. There he underwent surgery during which one of his legs was amputated. It is reported that he was suffering from cerebral edema. He was placed on a ventilator. His level of consciousness remained extremely low.
Later, he was allegedly transferred to the Bakyatollah Hospital in Tehran. There he remained in critical condition for several days. Sources say the improvement was minimal. He continued to be on ventilator. He was being treated in the intensive care unit. The same sources estimate that it's not just blood loss. They suggest severe neurological damage. A low level of consciousness for more than ten days could indicate this.
It is also reported that he suffered injuries in other parts of his body as well. This has complicated his overall condition. That said, it remains unclear whether he has been transferred again to another location. There is no information on that.
