New Photos Of A Civilian Plane Shot Down By Russians Near Moscow Have Surfaced

In the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Moscow region confirmed the fact of the airplane crash.

On March 20, the downing of a light-engine plane, which, according to preliminary data, could have been shot down by air defense systems, was recorded in Kolomna near Moscow. The incident killed two people who were on board, writes Focus.

The Russian Telegram channel MNS was the first to report it, citing its own sources. According to available information, air defense forces may have mistakenly identified the aircraft as a Ukrainian drone and opened fire on it. After being hit, the light-engine plane lost control and crashed near the Oka River, and the incident killed two people on board.

At the same time, the Telegram-channel of the Moscow region's Ministry of Emergency Situations confirmed the crash. It reported that the operational dispatch service received information about the crash of a light-engine plane in the urban district of Kolomna near the bank of the Oka River.

The Russian Telegram channel ASTRA writes that against the background of the incident, local authorities reported air defense activity in the region. In particular, the head of the municipal district of Istra Tatiana Vitusheva claimed to have allegedly shot down three drones.

Later, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin informed about a larger drone attack, noting that air defense forces allegedly destroyed 21 drones that were moving toward the Russian capital. Around 8:20 p.m., he also reported the elimination of another drone, adding that emergency services were working at the site of the fallen debris.
