Priests Are Detained In Belarus

Five Ukrainian refugees are also reported detained.

March 16, priest Anatol Parakhnevich, rector of the parish in Olkovichi (Vileika district, Minsk region), was detained, reports the human rights center "Viasna".

According to human rights activists, six other people were also detained in mid-March. Five of them were Christians, including two elders of evangelical churches. Two detainees were released after interrogation, four remain in custody.

In addition, human rights activists report the detention of five Ukrainian refugees who were assisted by local churches.
