Ports On Fire: U.S. And Israel Hit IRGC Vulnerabilities

Sixteen Iranian vessels were destroyed.

The U.S. and Israel struck ports in southern Iran, cursorinfo.co.il reported. According to Iran's Tasnim news agency, 16 civilian and commercial vessels were destroyed in the attack. The strikes hit the ports of Bandar Lengeh and Bandar Kerug near the Strait of Hormuz.

Iranian sources say the attack affected a commercial dock in Bandar Lengeh. After the strike, the vessels caught fire and were destroyed. Port infrastructure and property in the surrounding area were damaged. This port is considered an important hub for the supply of weapons and goods for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

Simultaneously, there was information about a US strike on a facility on the island of Qeshm. It is about a complex of underground tunnels. The strike caused destruction on the surface. Craters and damage appeared near the facilities. However, the underground tunnels themselves are not estimated to have been destroyed.

Analysts note that the main assets may have survived. The underground infrastructure is used to store boats, missiles and drones. It may remain partially operational or subject to rehabilitation.

In recent weeks, the islands of Kharq and Qeshm have become a new point of tension. They play a key role in Iran's oil exports. This makes them important strategic targets.
