Lukashenko Backed Down

The dictator promises to return the trucks to Poland and Lithuania.

Alexander Lukashenko said that in the coming days Belarus would return to Poland and Lithuania the trucks seized back in 2025. The dictator said this on March 20, a day after a meeting with the special envoy of US President Donald Trump John Cole

"I have to make this decision by Monday. There's no procrastination, I don't want there to be red tape or bureaucracy. I instructed the government: let's meet and talk to them humanely. We sat down at the negotiating table, listened to them and handed them over to me. I will make a decision and, I think, from Monday we will start the process of returning these trucks. We will return these trucks. It's a pity for Poles and Lithuanians," said Lukashenko.

By early December, 185 Lithuanian trucks remained in Belarus. Initially, 1,100 trucks were not released from the territory of the country. They were banned from leaving the country after Lithuania temporarily closed the border with Belarus because of the weather probes flying from our country with contraband.

It should be noted that Lithuania consulted with the U.S. on the return of its trucks, seized by Lukashenko's regime.
