The Hockey News Predicted When Ilya Protas Will Establish Himself In The NHL

Authoritative North American publication The Hockey News presented the top 10 best Washington Capitals prospects.

First place on the list went to 19-year-old Belarusian forward Ilya Protas.

According to The Hockey News, he's expected to play in the Washington Capitals' core for the 2027/2028 season.

In the current AHL season, Ilya Protas has played 53 games, scored 44 (22+22) points, received 30 penalty minutes and has a utility rating of "+9". Protas is currently the Hershey Bears' top sniper and scorer.

It should be noted that last season Protas Jr. was Washington's 6th prospect.

Of all NHL prospects, Ilya Protas is ranked 16th.
