France and Germany have agreed to work together on the issue of nuclear deterrence and have set up a task force to do so.
As German Chancellor Friedrich Merz announced, the initiative belongs to him and French President Emmanuel Macron. The German chancellor added that the two countries are planning "concrete steps".
