Three U.S. Air Force F-15E fighter jets went down in Kuwaiti territory due to "friendly fire". This was announced by the Central Command of the US Armed Forces (CENTCOM).
"During active combat operations, the US Air Force fighters were mistakenly shot down by Kuwaiti air defense assets," CENTCOM said. - All six crew members successfully ejected, were evacuated and their condition is stable."
The Kuwaiti authorities "recognized the incident" and an investigation has been launched. The U.S. is grateful to the Kuwaiti defense forces for supporting the U.S. operation against Iran, CENTCOM added.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said today that Iranian forces shot down three U.S. fighter jets. The IRGC also claimed to have struck the office of Israel's prime minister. The Israeli army called Tehran's claims "figments of imagination."
