(Updated) Tehran refused to negotiate, Hezbollah entered the conflict.
On February 28, the United States and Israel launched strikes on Iran in order to change the power in the country. After the start of the operation, US President Donald Trump called on Iranian security forces to lay down their arms, and invited citizens to take to the streets and "throw off the yoke of tyranny." Iran's supreme leader Ali Khamenei, Defense Minister Amir Nasirzadeh and Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps commander Mohammad Pakpour were killed. In response to the strikes, Iran launched attacks on U.S. bases in the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, Jordan and Kuwait.
On March 2, the U.S. and Israel continued their military operation against the regime in Iran. Meanwhile, Tehran has refused to hold talks with Washington that US President Donald Trump had previously announced.
