How Karpenkov Framed Lukashenko
Nikolay Karpenkov

The favorite myth of the Belarusian authorities has been dispelled.

Last year, "about 520 drones" were demined in Belarus. This was told by the commander of the Interior Ministry's internal troops Nikoli Karpenkov in an interview with his press service, writes "Salidarnasts".

The major-general had a simple and clear task: to praise his subordinates by the next anniversary of the formation of the internal troops. So he impressed them with figures: Belarusian sappers secured 27 thousand explosive objects during the year, showed courage in demining tasks, which are "especially numerous in Gomel region," and received 12 medals for heroism. In particular, they demined 520 drones, "every third of which, it turns out, is a combat drone."

But by doing so, Karpenkov only framed Alexander Lukashenko, who has been assuring for many years that "the main priority of Belarus is a peaceful sky above the head," and literally today wished it, including the military and veterans of the internal troops.

What kind of peaceful sky is this, where, judging by simple calculations, every week we have to shoot down (or they fall down) and clear an average of 10 drones?

If every third of more than five hundred drones is a combat drone, then the rest are "peaceful"? Then why demine them?

And finally, after such confessions, how can the Belarusians believe the statements of officials that the population, as well as the BelNPP and other strategic facilities, are safe?
