Kadyrov Appeared In Public In Grozny: Rumors Of Illness Intensified

It is quite difficult for the head of Chechnya to move around.

The head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov has appeared in public after a long absence. Judging by the published footage, his health condition remains not the best. The video was published on Kadyrov's Telegram channel on the evening of March 17, Dialog.UA reports.

Kadyrov attended the opening of a townhouse complex in Grozny, where he made a short speech. The Chechen leader still looks sickly, he has lost weight, and it is obviously quite difficult for him to move around.

He was also in a rather gloomy mood. The Russian influential resource "VChK-OGPU", which is linked to the Russian security services, claims that Kadyrov has been absent from the public eye for more than two weeks.

"During Kadyrov's mysterious visit to Moscow, they talked to him about the need to step down as head of the republic because of his health, but everything was centered on the person of a successor. Kadyrov saw his son Adam as such, which the Kremlin did not approve of," the channel said.

Kadyrov's public appearance came just a couple of days after independent Russian media reported, citing sources, that the Kremlin had agreed on a successor to Kadyrov. This is allegedly the republic's prime minister, Magomed Daudov, who is known in Chechnya by the nickname Lord.

There are very persistent rumors that Kadyrov is terminally ill. There are various diagnoses: oncology, kidney failure and necrosis of the pancreas. The Chechen leader himself has denied the rumors several times, but his appearance suggests otherwise.
