Larijani was not the only one killed in the airstrike.

Iran's Supreme National Security Council confirmed the death of its head Ali Larijani after Israel claimed he was killed in an airstrike.

It was reported by The Times of Israel.

"The pure souls of the martyrs have joined the purified soul of God's righteous servant, the martyr Dr. Ali Larijani," the council said in its text.

It added that his son and bodyguards were also killed along with Larijani.

The media, citing Iranian media, also said that in addition to Larijani, the council's deputy security chief Alirezu Bayata and the commander of the Basij (People's Militia) unit Gholamrez Suleimani were eliminated.

Reminder, on March 16, the Israel Defense Forces reported that it had struck Iran at night and liquidated security commanders. One of them turned out to be Secretary of the Security Council Ali Larijani, who was called the favorite for the post of supreme leader of the country.

It should be explained that after the elimination of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, his son Mojtaba was elected as the new supreme leader of Iran. However, it was Larijani who actually led the country and coordinated the country's decision.
