How Ukraine Surprised NATO Forces At The Exercise

General's analysis.

At the NATO exercise in Portugal in 2025, the multinational "red team" led by Ukraine defeated the Alliance forces in all 5 scenarios. NATO called this maneuver historic, because for the first time the Ukrainian navy coordinated the actions of a conditional enemy during such exercises.

Army General, former head of the Foreign Intelligence Service Nikolay Malomuzh explained "24 Kanal" that such cooperation opens the way to the formation of a unified security system of Europe, where Ukraine is a full-fledged subject.

Will cooperation with Ukraine be the key to the defense of all of Europe?

In a simulated attack on the convoy, Magura V7 maritime drones hit a NATO frigate so many times that in a real battle the ship would have been destroyed. Various modifications of the drone were also demonstrated at the exercise.

This is not the first demonstration of successful actions on the part of Ukraine. Earlier, the Ukrainian military at the exercises in Estonia "defeated", so to speak, NATO troops.

- I myself have led special operations and know that when you have combat experience and act unconventionally, the enemy simply does not record our plans. At these maritime exercises NATO representatives did not even notice our means and strikes, although they were training, but quite real in execution, just using electronic systems, - said Malomuzh.

Destruction of the frigate in real conditions would be a strategic success, and it clearly showed that NATO has no such experience and now they must learn from Ukraine.

Consolidation of high-precision means of defeat on land and sea, the formation of a unified security system, a joint model of the military-industrial complex and long-range detection and patrol systems - all this can become the basis of a global system of threat prevention, which will be created within the framework of the peace process.

"With such a system of preparation and cooperation, Russia will have no chance to attack and simply will not go for new aggressions. But first there should be a lot of work on the frontline and joint exercises with partners who have joined the common security model," Malomuzh explained.
