Czech President: Belarusians Deserve The Right To Freely Decide Their Future
Peter Paul

Peter Paul met with Ales Bialiatski.

Sanctions against the regime in Belarus remain justified as long as it continues to imprison its critics and brutally suppress civil liberties.

This was stated by Czech President Peter Pavel following his meeting with Belarusian human rights activist Ales Bialiatski.

- I was honored to welcome human rights activist and Nobel Peace Prize winner Ales Bialiatski, who unjustly spent more than 7 years in a Belarusian prison," wrote Pavel on his page in the social network X.

He emphasized that Belarusians deserve the right to decide their future freely and without external interference.

In this context, Bialiatski, according to him, also reminded that European countries should not close themselves off from the citizens of Belarus - only in this way Belarusians will be able to overcome the isolation imposed on them.
