Muscovites Have Started Buying Up Walkie-talkies And Pagers

There is no internet in the Russian capital.

In Moscow, sales of communication devices which do not require an Internet connection have risen sharply. We are talking about walkie-talkies, pagers and landline telephones. This was reported by the press service of the marketplace Wildberries, noted "Cold".

According to the company, in the period from March 6 to March 10, the turnover of household radios increased by 27% compared to the same period last month. Sales of pagers, which are used to communicate with customers and staff, increased by 73%, and landline phones - by 25%.

In Wildberries attribute the growth in demand to the interruptions of mobile Internet in the capital. In recent days, Muscovites have complained about the unstable work of mobile communications and Internet services.

At the same time, the demand for Wi-Fi routers, on the contrary, stopped growing, specified representatives of the marketplace. In 2025, Moscow residents actively bought such devices. Then the amount of sales increased by 70%, and the number of routers sold - by 60%. However, by the end of March 2026 the growth of sales of this category in the capital is not noted.

The inhabitants of the capital began to complain about mass interruptions in the work of mobile Internet on March 5. Only the next day cellular operators commented on what was happening. Thus, representatives of T-Mobile said that the outages "may be caused by security measures", which the operators cannot influence.
