Trump Associate Paves Way For New Agreements With China

Will there be a reboot?

The U.S. Senate is sending a delegation to China following Donald Trump.

The Bloomberg reports.

A U.S. Senate delegation will travel to China immediately after the historic meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese leader Si Jinping. It will be led by Senator Senator Steve Daines, a key ally of the president and a man who knows the Chinese economy from the inside.

It is known that the visit of American lawmakers, scheduled for May 2026. And it will be the first real step toward implementing the agreements between the leaders of the two nations.

Senator Daines has already said that this trip has been in preparation for months. Its purpose is not just a diplomatic visit, but to explore China's innovation ecosystem and develop infrastructure ties.

The delegation plans to visit Beijing and Shanghai using China's famous high-speed trains. This is a symbolic gesture: U.S. policymakers intend to see China's infrastructure progress firsthand, as Steve Daines reported at the recent BlackRock Summit in Washington.

Why Steve Daines will lead the delegation

The choice of a delegation leader is no accident. Daines is one of the most experienced "China experts" in the Republican ranks.

In the 1990s, he worked for Procter & Gamble in China and Hong Kong.

In addition, he conducted the most complex trade negotiations during both of Trump's terms.

This will be his seventh visit to China, which will be the final chord before his resignation early next year.

Experts believe such Senate activity indicates Washington's willingness to pursue concrete economic agreements. The participation of a senator with direct access to Trump ensures that Beijing will see this delegation as the official voice of the White House.
