Trump Declared A U.S. Victory In Iran

US President Donald Trump said that the war against Iran has actually already been won, and now the only question is when exactly the hostilities will end. He said this to reporters on a flight to Washington, CNN writes.

"I think we're in very good shape - the main thing is we have to win this thing, win it quickly, but win it," Trump said.

He said many commentators already consider the conflict to be over, and the only question now is when the US will stop the operation.

The American president also said he did not want to allow the threat from Iran to resume. He suggested that the country must have new leadership capable of rebuilding the state.

"We don't want to let this grow again, and ideally we would like to see someone who knows what they're doing - in other words, who can build the country," Trump said.

Earlier in the day, during a speech in Kentucky, the US president addressed his supporters, saying that the war had effectively ended when the operation began.

"We won. We won, it was over in the first hour," he said, without providing concrete evidence.

At the same time, the Trump administration sounds different assessments regarding the duration of military operations. The president himself did not respond to a reporters' question whether he still believes it is possible to end the war within four weeks.
