Oil Prices Continue To Fall

Brent fell to $82 per barrel.

The cost of a barrel of Brent crude fell sharply in the last hour after U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright wrote in X that the United States had successfully escorted an oil tanker through the Strait of Hormuz.

The price of oil had fallen from a high of $94 a barrel earlier on Tuesday before hitting $82 a barrel.

While Wright's message in X has since disappeared. It said, "President Trump is keeping the global energy situation stable during the military operation against Iran. The U.S. Navy successfully escorted an oil tanker through the Strait of Hormuz to ensure the uninterrupted flow of oil to world markets."
