Zelensky Names Deadline For Peace In Ukraine
Vladimir Zelensky

Kiev will not agree to withdraw its troops from the Donetsk region even for the sake of ending the war.

Abu Dhabi is hosting trilateral peace talks with the participation of representatives of Ukraine, the United States and Russia since January 2026.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky believes that Russia's war against Ukraine may end in 2027. The Ukrainian leader said this in an interview with French TV channel France 2.

According to Zelensky, his main task at the moment is to end the war. In this regard, his "team is now negotiating" (we are talking about trilateral peace talks in Abu Dhabi between representatives of Ukraine, the United States and Russia - ed.).

Zelensky emphasized that Kiev will not agree to withdraw its troops from Donetsk region even for the sake of ending the war, as it contradicts the Constitution of Ukraine. He called it "red lines" for the Ukrainian delegation at the peace talks. Even a ceasefire on the currently existing line of contact is considered by the president as a great compromise that Ukraine is ready to make for the sake of ending the war.

The Ukrainian leader noted that Russia, even during the peace talks, continues to shell Ukraine's civilian infrastructure and tries to advance on the frontline, suffering huge losses in personnel. In his opinion, this shows that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is not serious about concluding a peace agreement.
