Russia has lost the war in Ukraine.
Russia lost the war in Ukraine without achieving its military goals. The last popularly elected president of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili, said this in a video message on February 24.
On the fourth anniversary of the full-scale invasion, she stressed that Georgians share with Ukrainians the tragedy of Russian aggression. Peace will not come until the Russian Federation returns to its borders, she said.
Addressing President Vladimir Zelensky and the Ukrainian people, she noted their bravery and endurance in confronting "Russian imperialism."
"After four years, this seemingly great empire has failed to bring you to your knees - and this is a great success. I wish you that peace will come very soon, but a real peace: one that respects the will of the Ukrainian people, Ukraine's sovereignty and its territorial integrity," Zurabishvili says in the video.
She recalled that Bolshevik Russia attacked independent Georgia on February 25, 1921, and the Kremlin invaded Ukrainian territory on February 24, 2022. In 2008, Moscow launched a new occupation in the Caucasus.
"So February is the month when Russian imperialism sort of continues to live, but it will come to an end.... I think that with the end of the Russian occupation in Ukraine, we should all witness the end of the Russian occupation elsewhere: in South Ossetia, Abkhazia, and also in Transnistria and wherever the Russian Federation goes beyond its borders. Glory to Ukraine!" - summarized the politician.
