The legal right of Ukraine will be supported by all necessary means.
Swedish Defense Minister Paul Johnson has reiterated readiness to support Ukraine in returning Crimea without geographical restrictions on the use of military aid.
Swedish Defense Minister Paul Johnson said this while commenting on the transfer of Tridon Mk2 systems to Ukraine, the Rzeczpospolita writes.
Thus, the Swedish Defense Minister confirmed support for Ukraine in restoring its territorial integrity
February 23, 2026, commenting on the transfer of Tridon Mk2 systems to Ukraine and the financing of long-range missiles worth 524 million euros, the minister made a clear statement about the use of Swedish aid.
When asked by journalists whether Ukraine could use these long-range missiles to strike targets in occupied Crimea, Paul Johnson replied:
"Sweden does not impose geographical restrictions on the use of the provided assistance to protect Ukraine's sovereignty. If Ukraine decides to take back Crimea, that is its legitimate right, and we will support that right with the necessary means."
Sweden thus reaffirmed its readiness to provide Ukraine with the tools to defend and restore its territorial integrity, while leaving the decision on concrete actions to Kiev.
This decision reflects Stockholm's policy of strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities and supporting its right to sovereignty over all occupied territories.
