Zelensky: NATO Should Consider "Oreshnik" In Belarus As A Legitimate Target
Vladimir Zelensky

There is a risk of Belarusians being dragged into the war.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said in an interview with "Zerkalo" about the risk of Belarus being fully drawn into the war against Ukraine:

- I believe that he [Putin] is drawing the Belarusians in. He does - but it does not mean that Belarusian soldiers, military, border guards will come to our territory today. As I have already said, this is a different war - you can involve them technologically.

He involves them by deploying his auxiliary technical forces on your territory. [And that's why] Lukashenko can no longer say, "I didn't control [the missiles], this used to stand here, and that's why it flew." But there were no such drones as there are now before the war, there were no such repeaters as they use, there was no "Oreshnik" physically on the territory of Belarus. And it can't just appear. That's what I'm talking about. I apologize for repeating myself so many times. You know, I feel the risk. I feel it.

Zelensky is also convinced that NATO should consider the medium-range Oreshnik missiles deployed by Russia on the territory of Belarus as a legitimate military target.

Zelensky pointed out that Russia and Belarus are making a "show" with the deployment of "Oreshnik" on the Belarusian territory, as they have not yet brought the entire complex there, but "only the relevant machines."

He believes that the purpose of these actions is to intimidate Europe.

"In my opinion, NATO should consider "Oreshnik" as a legitimate target. Ukraine, for its part, will assess this threat.... But Lukashenko should not play games, because after these steps, already without consulting Lukashenko, the Russians will introduce 'Oreshnik' into the territory of Belarus," Zelensky said.
