U.S. Hockey Team Beats Canada In Olympic Final

The fate of the "gold" was decided in overtime.
The final match of the men's Olympic hockey tournament between the national teams of Canada and the United States took place in Milan at the Arena Santa Giulia stadium. The American team won with a score of 2:1 in overtime and became the Olympic champion, writes "Championship".
In the sixth minute of the match the score was opened by American forward Matt Boldy, who in a solo pass in the center of the zone dragged the puck and sent it into the corner of the goal of Jordan Binnington. Aston Matthews and Quinn Hughes scored assists.
In the 39th minute of the game, Canadian defenseman Kale Makar tied the game with a pass from Devon Taves. Midway through the second period, Canada failed to realize a five-on-three majority.
In the third period, both teams failed to realize a majority. Several amazing saves were made by U.S. goalie Connor Hellebuyck.
Overtime was played in a three-on-three format. "The Golden Puck" was scored by Jack Hughes and made Team USA the Olympic champion. The Canadian team won silver medals, with Finland taking bronze.
