Ex-political Prisoner Denis Sokolovsky Died

The death of former political prisoner Denis Sokolovsky was reported on February 22 by former prisoner Kseniya Lutskina.

"A wonderful cameraman, a wonderful person. A former political prisoner who never complained to anyone," she wrote on her page in Facebook.

According to the Belarusian Association of Journalists (BAJ), Sokolowski went to Germany after his release in the summer of 2021. The man, as noted by BAJ, died on Saturday, February 21.

According to the human rights initiative Dissidentby, Sokolovsky is a former cameraman of the TV channel Belarus 1. He was detained on December 22, 2020 in the case of "Press Club Belarus" for "tax evasion." Released on August 23, 2021 "on the basis of a pardon".
