More And More Countries Want To Buy Polish Piorun Man-portable Air Defense Systems

Warsaw has been supplying them to Ukraine for several years.

Polish Piorun surface-to-air missile systems are increasingly in demand in Europe. Mesko, a member of the Polish Weapons Group (PGZ), has been supplying them to Ukraine for several years. The effectiveness of this weapon has also been appreciated by the Americans and Norwegians, reports "Polish Radio".

According to the president of the Polish Weapons Group Adam Leszkiewicz, more and more countries are interested in Polish "lightning" (piorun).

"The countries of Northern Europe show great interest in our products. We are very happy to cooperate with partners from the Scandinavian industry. These partners also include the Baltic States, Italy, some Balkan countries, and we are also grateful for the interest shown in the Lightning from Germany and France," said Adam Leszkiewicz.

European partners have shown particular interest in Polish weapons since the end of last year, when individual countries submitted applications to the European Commission for participation in the SAFE program. Earlier we wrote that the German government expressed its readiness to purchase Polish portable anti-aircraft missile systems Piorun.

Reminder, Piorun is a portable anti-aircraft missile system manufactured in Poland. It is designed to combat low-flying airplanes, helicopters and drones. In addition to the Polish army, Piorun is also in service with the armies of Norway, Latvia and Ukraine.
