Epstein's Victims Will Receive A Record $35 Million.
Jeffrey Epstein

The entire payout amount will be funded from the inheritance.

The estate of Jeffrey Epstein and his co-executors have reached an agreement to pay up to $35 million to women alleging abuse to close all residual claims.

It is reported by Bloomberg.

It is noted that the agreement is intended to permanently close all claims from the victims' group, which their attorney estimates at least 40 women. The decision follows previous payouts from the Epstein Victim Compensation Program: $121 million to 136 plaintiffs and an additional $48 million for 59 victims.

The co-executors of the estate, Darren Indyk and Richard Kahn, who worked as Epstein's lawyer and accountant, plead not guilty and agreed to the terms of the settlement without admitting guilt. The entire payout will be funded specifically by Epstein's estate.

The draft agreement needs approval from a federal judge in New York, after which it will become final. According to the documents, the payout would be $35 million if the number of women in the group exceeds 40, or $25 million if less.

A lawyer for the co-defendants emphasized that none of the women ever accused Indyke or Kahn of sexually assaulting or witnessing Epstein's crimes.

The case is before the federal court for the Southern District of New York as Ward v. Indyke.

The settlement will be the final step in a years-long process to pay victims of one of the most high-profile scandals in the United States.
