Storm Pedro hit the country today.
France has recorded the longest period of rain in the history of meteorological observations. Rainfall in the country has been falling for 36 consecutive days, BFM TV reported.
The meteorological service said rain has been recorded in France continuously since January 14 until now. The previous record was recorded in the fall of 2023, when the country had 32 consecutive rainy days.
A rainy day is defined as a day for which an average of 1 mm or more of rain fell in the country.
On Wednesday, February 18, storm Pedro hit France. According to meteorologists, the speed of wind gusts will reach 90-120 km/h, in coastal areas the speed may reach 140 km/h. From 15 to 50 mm of precipitation is expected.
At the moment, due to the risk of heavy rain and flooding in four departments there is a warning of "red" - the highest level of weather danger. Another 10 departments are under an "orange" warning - the highest level of weather danger.
