The main goal of the Russian opposition is the victory of Ukraine.
One of the leaders of the Russian opposition Garry Kasparov shared his opinion on Russia's future in an interview with RBC-Ukraine. The Russian politician believes that the imperial character of the Russian Federation is doomed:
- It is that rare case when I will say that I don't know. Precisely because you can spend a lot of time on a semantic argument about what Russia is in general. Here we are talking about the Russian Empire. It is doomed, of course. The imperial character of the state is doomed. Whether Russia will remain within the geographical boundaries it has today, I highly doubt.
What form the new state will take after the collapse of Putin's empire, I do not know. From my point of view, it is wrong to give any prescriptions today. Because this process will require maximum harmonization of interests. Now it is interesting that in the group of fifteen people in the Platform, five of them represent these small indigenous peoples and "decolonizers".
This is actually an interesting conversation. Nobody knows the exact answer, though. Let's say Pavel Sulyandziga, he represents the Udege, the Yakuts, the peoples of the Far East. There's a non-obvious question there. Yes, of course, Russia is not a good thing. But the alternative is China. There will not be independence there, there will be China. So it is complicated. This topic requires a very cautious approach. Because today it's hard to make predictions. It is not a fact that total disintegration is a good thing. Precisely because half of Russia will become China.
Want to have China there at your place? By the way, China has huge territorial claims on Russia. The claims to China are basically almost everything from Baikal to Vladivostok. This is what China was before 1860. So it's very complicated. I proceed from the fact that it should be voluntary. If some peoples of the North Caucasus want to leave - please do so.
That is, Russia has a future only in the option of creating a normal federation on a voluntary basis. Can it happen? I don't know. I can say that I will do my best to make it happen.
What I really don't like is when they tell us about the "beautiful Russia of the future", ignoring all these difficulties I'm talking about. To engage in "hlestakovschina" - "here we will build..." - is a hubbub really.
But that's all the future. But for now, today there is only one goal. The Russian opposition must do everything to make Ukraine win the war. Because here we have on the flag of the "Free Russia Forum" written: "Victory for Ukraine - freedom for Russia!" Only in that order. There is no rearrangement of components. If Ukraine does not win the war, nothing will happen in Russia. Historically, we know for 200 years that changes in Russia were the result of geopolitical military defeat.
