There's A Ballistics Alert Across Ukraine

Is it "Peanutbutter" again?

An air alert has been declared across Ukraine this afternoon, February 17, due to a ballistic threat. It is possible that we are talking about the launch of "Oreshnik", the Air Force of the AFU reported in Telegram.

"Threat of ballistic weapons throughout the territory of Ukraine," - noted in the Air Force of the AFU.

Monitoring publics report the threat of using the missile "Oreshnik" from the Russian testing ground Kapustin Yar.

It should be noted that Oreshnik is a Russian medium-range ballistic missile, which the Russian authorities presented as their "newest development" at the end of 2024.

The system is based on the RS-26 Rubezh complex and can reach hypersonic speeds of more than 12,000 kilometers per hour, according to publicly available information. The missile is equipped with six warheads, each containing submunitions.

The Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine reports that Russia has no more than three or four such missiles in service as of the end of January 2026. It is also known that their production remains limited - only a small number are manufactured during the year.
