Armed Robbery In Minsk Region: Attackers Attacked The Police

The three attackers were foreign nationals.

In Minsk region, three foreigners were detained on a hot trail on suspicion of armed robbery, one of them a minor. Head of the Interior Ministry Ivan Kubrakov went to the scene, Interpol is involved in the investigation, the Interior Ministry said.

Early in the morning, February 16, about four o'clock, in Smolevichi district, Minsk voblast, an alarm went off in a private house. Security Department officers went to the call.

There were three armed intruders in the house. The attempt to detain them turned into a violent confrontation: the attackers resisted, and in response the police officers used automatic weapons.

Two suspects were detained on the spot. The third, also armed, managed to escape. In Zhodzina and Smolevichy districts a special plan to search for and detain armed criminals was introduced. The fugitive was detained in Smolevichi district.

It turned out that all three attackers were foreign citizens. One of them is a minor, 17 years old, the other two - 18 years old.

Interior Minister Ivan Kubrakov arrived at the scene, and an investigation team is working. The investigation is considering the version of a contract attack, and the National Central Bureau of Interpol is involved in the investigation.

The attack injured three people, all born in 1958-1962. They were taken to hospital, information about their condition is being clarified.
