Trump Calls Peace Council To Send Troops To Gaza

Statement by the President of the United States.

U.S. President Donald Trump announced that the Peace Council summit will be held in Washington on February 19. The meeting will announce a number of decisions on Gaza.

This was reported by "RBC-Ukraine" with reference to Trump's post on the social network Truth Social.

In the post, the president emphasized that the Peace Council has unlimited potential. He went on to describe how he went from presenting a plan to end the war in Gaza to the moment the council was created, before announcing plans for next week.

"On February 19, 2026, I will reconvene with members of the Peace Council at the Donald J. Trump Peace Institute in Washington, D.C.," Trump wrote.

He announced that this meeting will announce how much money will be allocated for the reconstruction of Gaza, as well as say the decision to send troops.

"We will announce that member states have allocated more than $5 billion for humanitarian and reconstruction work in Gaza and have sent thousands of troops... to maintain security and peace for the people of Gaza," the US leader said.

Trump also stressed that it is critical that Hamas fulfills its commitment to complete and immediate demilitarization.

Resuming the US president said the Peace Council "will prove to be the most significant international body in history," adding that he is honored to be its chairman.
