The President of Poland noted the need to start work in this direction.
Polish President Karol Nawrocki has said he is a supporter of the country joining the "nuclear project" but with due regard to international norms.
Nawrocki said this in an interview with Polsat News.
Nawrocki said he supports Poland's move towards its own nuclear capability.
"I am a big supporter of Poland joining the nuclear project. What I mean is that the path to building Polish nuclear capabilities in full compliance with all international norms is the direction we should follow," the Polish president said.
When asked how this could be realized by circumventing the nuclear non-proliferation treaty, the Polish president said he did not know. However, he said, the relevant work should begin.
"We need to act in this direction so that we can start work. We are a state that is directly at the border of an armed conflict. It is known what attitude the aggressive, imperial Russian Federation has towards Poland. I will not say when it will happen and whether it will happen at all," replied Navrotsky.
