"We're trying to find a solution."
Although the US president has dropped his demand for the full conquest of Greenland, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said the crisis is not over.
She said this in a interview with the Financial Times at the Munich Security Conference.
-"We will try to find a solution.... but I don't think it's over yet," she said.
The working group, which includes representatives from Denmark, Greenland and the United States, is exploring a possible compromise to renegotiate the 1951 treaty that governs the deployment of US troops in Greenland.
-"Now we have a more traditional political diplomatic way forward," said Frederiksen, who is due to meet U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Munich.
"We understand that for the U.S., Greenland is a matter of internal defense. It always has been, and we will discuss it," she said, reiterating that Denmark's "red lines" on sovereignty would not be crossed.
