Ukraine's Defense Ministry conducted a cyber operation to find Russian Starlink.
The Ukrainian Defense Ministry has conducted an operation and collected data on 2,420 Russian Starlink and their exact location. The ministry said in Threads.
"Have Russians learned how to bypass Starlink blocking? They rejoiced, but not for long. Because it was actually our operation with the participation of the 256th Cyber Assault Division. We managed to collect data on 2420 enemy terminals and their exact locations. In addition, the Russians, who used the bot, also threw donations for 5870 dollars, which will be used to purchase additional drones," - said the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
They added that the Russian Starlink terminals are blocked, and the coordinates are transferred for further processing.
Reminder, Starlink terminals in Russian units worked illegally, because they were smuggled in from other countries. They could be set up also because formally they were on the territory of Ukraine, albeit occupied.
In January, the new head of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Mikhail Fedorov asked SpaceX to disconnect the Russian terminals. Ilon Musk responded positively, and all vehicles not registered in Ukraine were among those disabled.
The AFU recorded a drop in Russian combat activity immediately after the shutdown.
