More than in Paris.
US President Donald Trump has talked about plans to build a triumphal arch in the US capital Washington, inspired by the famous Parisian structure, writes German Wave.
On Saturday, the US president told reporters aboard Air Force One that the triumphal arches would be "the biggest," Trump said. I would like it to be the biggest," Trump said.
He said a committee will be set up to oversee the project.
With another architectural project, Trump aims to leave his mark on the look of Washington. Previously, the East Wing of the White House was demolished and construction of a banquet hall began in its place. The move drew criticism.
The Washington Post reports that according to one version of the project, the Triumphal Arch could be 76 meters high. By comparison, the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, completed in 1836, is 50 meters high.
