Trump: Greenland Purchase Agreement Almost Agreed Upon

The U.S. president claimed a "favorable deal".

A framework agreement on the purchase of Greenland by the United States is allegedly almost agreed.

U.S. President Donald Trump announced this while speaking to reporters.

"We've already started negotiations and I think it's almost agreed. I mean, they want it themselves. I think it will be a good deal for everybody. A very important deal, actually, from a national security standpoint," Trump said.

Trump had earlier claimed a framework agreement to buy Greenland, but the country's Economy Minister Naaya Nathanielsen effectively refuted the White House, saying there was no agreement and a dialog needed to begin first.
